If you are an employee, they have to figure out how much you made per hour and then base your overtime on that.
Lets say you make $1000 for 50 hours of work
You made $20 per hour
Half of that is $10
You've allready gotten paid the $20 per hour for hours over 40, so now you add in the $10 per hour for hours over 40
$10*10 hours = $100 in overtime pay
so you pay check would be $1100
