Actually if your getting 4 phone jobs a day and working 6 days a week with the AO's getting paid as well and possibly other line items per job you should be grossing 1500 plus a week which places you in the 75k a year bracket as an employee.
If you foot the expenses for the truck and tools it's not that bad considering the prime now has to foot the bill for GL ins. and must give you benefits as a full time employee. Also come tax season you'll be ahead of the game as per you can deduct the miles for both work related driving and part of the commute, as well as depreciation on tools, uniforms, etc. And meals on the road while in the performance of your job.
Now since you already paid your taxes up front this means you'll be getting a nice piece of change back come tax season.
