DD, the second input is necessary to watch one program and record another. you can't split the input because of the polarization ( voltage output that selects either right or left hand circular polarization). you need a minimum of a dual Lnb from which you can go direct to the two inputs or a multi-switch if you need more than two outputs. I'm not quite sure what you're asking here but i'm sure you can clear it up with a PM. Later, Mike M.
