It starts with your congressman. Enough people have to put the bug in his/her ear. It takes petitions, sit ins, Lots of media coverage. Which will almost be impossible. Media likes to :hit and run". They don't stick with a story for too long.
I do believe however, In our industry's situation, there could and would be considerable coverage from the media, if demonstations and protests were handled corectly. The public would tune in to "What effects me" headlines. Let's face it, How many of us here, actualy check the close on the Dow everyday? My guess is not many. Mainly due the fact of it not directly effecting them.
We have to use the same mentality to spur interest in the public, just as big business does. Big business likes to target who? The working man. When the president makes a speech who is he realy talking to?
