Ive also always wondered why we never used our own oil. I came to the conclusion that America wants to save its supply. I think they want everyone to drain their resources and leave ours untouched until we REALLY need it. I actually think its a matter of national defence in some sort of way. Maybe they are thinking on the lines of, whats the use of having the world finest military if we dont have fuel to drive them where they need to be. I dont know, but theres got to be a valid reason, because no one on either side of the aisle really pushes the issue.
