Chances are, you'll need to do something very similar to what parkerbama is doing.
Quick questions...what type of inputs do you have on your QAM mod or UC? Do you have an ASI input, SMPTE-310? Or can you say what model you have?
Basically...you'll need an 8-VSB Demodulator with an ASI(or similar digital output like SDI) output so that you can send this to a QAM modulator, or a mod/UC combination. Depending on the QAM modulator, or 8-VSB demodulator, you may need to use a laptop to set them up.
You could probably use a product a little less fancy than the SEM...but keep in mind that you will need to use a demod & QAM which has matching In/Outputs...meaning ASI out of the demod, ASI into the QAM. Same for SDI, or SMPTE-310, etc.
Hope that helps some.
