I was not ranting nor do I think he was addressing women. I was just stating what I have known from my experience. I think it belittles the profession to say that people do not get business by being ethical. If you read carefully, I wrote that I am sure there are circumstances in which "Favors" are exchanged for business. I personally believe that is an exception, and not the rule. It sounds like sour grapes to me.
People LOVE to make excuses as to why it is not their fault that they are not successful. Stating that someone has done something "Extra" (meaning unethically) to get where they have is not always true. MANY, of the clients simply want someone who will do what they say they will, when they said they would, and do it correctly. For MY clients, peace of mind feels better than anything I could possibly provide to them.
Next time you start a project, be the go to guy. I ensure you that by simply taking the worry out of the equation, you will see a huge increase in business.
