Best and most obvious bet would be to get a new cordless. I've only run into somthing like that once. But to make sure of all things, Check grounding of the house. Is the micro backfeeding electricly Or bad in some way? Have the cust buy a new phone. With a $650,000 home they can afford a better phone.
I had to hook my butt set to the house ground to hear the noise. Then my locator inside the house to find the device causing the noise. Took me like 2 hours. Gotta Love It. Good luck to ya.
