Re: Problems with OFS glass

Ok guys, here it is on OFS. We had the factory reps and splicers out there for two days. They came in confident and by the end of the first day the splicers showed signs of utter frustration. They had the same problems we did and could not meet the one way loss on the same fibers that we could not meet the one way loss on. The cleaving issue was the same also. By the end of day two the outcome was the same.
When they issued their report a few days later they stated their were no problems with their glass. 50 miles of in town FTTP cable was removed and is currently being replaced with CORNING. We did a reel to reel "dog and pony show with the corning and had zero cleaving issues and met the one way and bi-directional spec with ease. Bottom line is if your one way spec is below .35 and your traces are being looked at hard you may want to stay away from OFS.
Good luck out there!!(snipper)
