Let me begin by saying about 20 yrs ago Ray Bell eastern regional Mgr . for Multimedia / Cox asked me in Greenville N.C. while working as a sub to come inhouse to Become a General MGR. for Multimedia / Cox in Clinton N.C. . Ray had become a personal friend of mine while I worked in Greenville N.C. for Omni as I also do Fiberglass . I went to his house to repair his hot tub and we became friends , much to the Dismay of Omni , that couldn't put a stop of our friendship . Ray offered me to come inhouse and train to be GM of Clinton N.C. . I told him I appreciate the offer but for two reasons I would not accept his gracious offer. #1 being I was already making more $$$$$ than a GM and I didn't have to kiss anyones A$$ to get paid . My work spoke for itself , thats why I got paid . #2 I couldn't deal with the micromanagement that is so common in our industry . The GM always has someones butt to kiss and if he doesn't he's micromanaged to the point he leaves anyway . This is the single most thing I despise about our industry , although there are many other issuses that concern me . I just don't kiss butt , never have , never will , and the people that work for me don't have too either . You do the proper job to spec. in a timely manner you shouldn't have too . I don't make other people the fall guy to cover my a$$ . I have witnessed management too many times micromanage someone to the point the individual can't take it, so they move on to something else . The worst I ever saw this happen was when Time Warner Bought the system of Cherry Point MCAS from CVI , George Windslow , the Manager for the 47mile system on Cherry Point was retired Military , 20yrs , personal friends with the Generals on Cherry Point MCAS , did and excellent job and his public relations with the military was outstanding . When Time Warner Bought the system George was micromanaged by Newport Time Warner to the point he was escorted off the property of Time Warner in Newport by the Sherrifs Dept. , Truthfully I wish he would have kicked Stan the Mans A$$ before he left. Some might tell me, Duck you commiting cable sucicide by writing about these series of events . To the Mother Companys. You think I care??? I don't have to do cable , I can build my own line of Boats or 50 other things , I personally don't care . I'll work most of anyone in the Dirt , but I am proud to Say I know alot of Young and Old Dogs now that I'm getting OLD that can work me in the Dirt. Try blackballing me , it will be you in the END who loses , When I address the Stockholders at the Stockholders Conventions we will see who will prevail . I will show them in Black and White the bottom line , remember this , why did they invest to start with "TO GET PAID" Bottom Line. Ducks gonna change the industry . Mark my words , You might Say Why Did you leave ABSS . I won't allow what I'm doing to be reflected in a negative way on a Man that has put up with micromanagement for 30 yrs to stay in the game . I've just had enough and I feel its time for a change . You can stand me up at the Gates of Hell but the Duck won't back down !!!
