i'm back..........

quick question.......i was on a sketchy looking span where plant had obviously been added after the original build.......tap was 6 feet from the pole..........this used to be the end of the street, but it's a new real estate market here so they've added new houses and the easements aren't quite right...........anyway...........

my question is this.........on this crazy a$$ed span (loose, not attached to either of the poles this way or that, with a few hundred feet either direction) i see that the span cable (which i'm on) itself is spliced (i'm assuming that's what it was, looked like a flat football made of steel although much smaller, about an inch or 3/4 in diameter, but it was windy as hell and the tree i put my ladder up through was beating me and the ladder senseless .....i was kinda in a hurry)

anyway, how safe are these splices in the span cable itself........maybe i was just a little nervous by all the aformentioned conditions, but when i got up to see that i was NOT HAPPY.

HAPPY NEW YEARS, BE SAFE AND GO GET YOURS.
