Just a hack maybe, but demanding respectable rates most certainly. Really... I don't know what why this particular thread has gone on so long. I had a phone interview with Knight not too long ago and was so turned off by their prices I never called back.
And let me make this perfectly clear (for what must be the 20th time), if a prime is not willing to pay out, and we are talking about the 50+% cut taken by too many nowadays, they prioritize the following:
1) them
2) themselves
3) not you
I'd retire if not for the remaining companies out there who really do wish to build, and realize the only way to get there is to be fair with their technicians. The rest? well, you keep hiring the chaff. Maybe if you're lucky your greed won't get the best of you.
