I have to disagree with your point of view on the "Who's Customer is it?" issue.
IMO - If the company you work for does residential installs for an MSO (i.e. Comcast, Charter, Cox) ....Then the MSO is YOUR customer. You are installing the MSO's services in THIER customer's home. So when you are getting it done, you are representing yourself, the company you work for, AND the MSO.
Granted, you may TREAT them as your customer because ultimately they do put the money in your paycheck, but when the S#(t hits the fan, the MSO has to answer to their customer's issues..... then the snowball of responsibility will roll down hill landing in the tech's lap.
