And why exactly would that matter?
If this Gwester is a pain in the ass or not it still doesn't make it right for the person he's working for to withhold his money. If he failed on some jobs he should be allowed to fix them. If he can't fix them because he's ostracized from the system (or in this case running from the man), those failed jobs should be fixed by another and deducted from Gweester's check, with references for each failure.
