That method will wear out the rubber rollers in the lasher pretty fast.
Try to hang an A-frame roller upside down with just the last lash tied to it and pull it with the rope. Before you send it try to slap the span to let slack in the wire first. If there are more lashing wires underneath then send it back the opposite way with the next lash,etc. etc until it's done.
