all good points, but it still isn't always enough......i was drilling an a/o 2 years ago and only after i'd made it through and knocked a good sized chunk out of the drywall did i realize that i'd missed a flexible gas line by almost nothing.......i assume the guy that built the house had missed his mark and cross drilled a good chunk of the house, because there WERE NO GAS LINES NEEDED FOR 3 ROOMS...the furnace and the gas meter were lined up with each other at the rear of the house, but i'm at the front of the house probably 40' up and still had the problem, the water heater was in the attic as well, but again at the rear of the house.....i can't explain it, but thank God, i act like a doctor on an install........first rule: DO NO HARM!
ps that's not to sound big, it's just something i tell myself when i'm not sure.
