Re: Didn't Get Away With It. -Update-

I've shingle (roof) mounted thousands of dishs', never have I had one leak, NEVER!! But they were all very well siliconed and mounted on the overhang. This way if there is a leak it would leak through the soffit, not over a structural part of the house. I used that practice for alot of years with very good success.
What I dont like to see is a dish mounted to the facia board (as the pic shows). The reason for this is that facia boards are usually only 1/2" thick and held in by minimal nails. A big wind comes along and rips off the dish taking the facia board (usually in a 10' length) all the way to the ground. The one thing you have to watch with roof mounts is voiding roof warranties, and the customer moving the dish themselves in the future, which voids the installation warranty, but, a good lawyer will get anyone the money they want. Always explain to the cust. what you are about to do, the risks, and the advantages. Happy hanging, be safe y'all. Later, Red(snipper)(usa)
