For your interest I am running + 15 dBmV flat between 5-40 MHz at the input of all my NODE and AMP. My highest value tap is 27 dB and most of my drop (RG-6) are between 90 to 110 feet.
So I am not worry about not having enough gain of my cable modem and my CMTS is hit at 0 dBmV. My question had this question in mind "Did a splitter have enough isolation between the TV link and the modem link". After your answers, I decided to use a 6 dB coupler.
