At that point you should legally be able to punch them in the nose! I've had that happen twice and it sucks to be sure. As a matter of fact thats how I got here! It was too late though I had spent literally every last dime moving the family over a week-end and wifey wasn't pleased about the local either. I showed up at work (line crew supervisor) and said "wheres my crew?" Boss man said "take that mechanics helper in there" ! At that point I knew I had been had but I had to suck it up and deal with it, it all worked out in the end after I was able to quit him and move on. I also learned a valuable lesson (people lie) that I wont be fool enough to fall for again. Check out your employerer as much as possible before any committments and if possible get it in writing.
