That was a great definition Vegas of a democracy. That is precisely what the founding fathers knew and wanted to prevent. DEMOCRACY is MOB RULE. DEMOCRACY is any group that gets together and deides they want this or that to happen and by force or by majority push through what they want....under the guise of "freedom." Majority rule is simply MOB RULE. So if I can convince enough people to, lets say, kill all satellite and cable installers....and the people vote for that to happen....then we have a DEMOCRACY.

Now NO ONE has given the definition of a democratic republic. It has nothing to do with money or political parties names.....Sorry to disappoint some of you. This is extremely important because politcal machines, being political parties, groups, associations, unions, etc., will blow smoke up your skirt and get you clear off track. If they can get you upset enough at the "lack of democracy" then they can control you and run you around by your emotions. Emotions are a powerful motivator.

Finally there is a famous quote and it is worth repeating here. "Those who fail to study history are destined to repeat it." I challenge each of you in this great discussion to really find out WHY our country was formed as a democratic republic....and what the term means. HINT: DO A GOOGLE SEARCH AND START EDUCATING YOURSELF BY READING THE FEDERALIST PAPERS.
