we may be a democracy, finally, at this point, but the fight for it wasn't on the news today and now who cares? democracy means rule by the people, and in reality even though i can vote and so can you, my vote doesn't mean a damn thing for another 2, 4, 6, 8 years depending on the post and location, in the mean time people in those posts and locations are going to be persuaded more by the money they earn with their power than what is going to happen in x amount of time. it's not oligarchy or democracy or anything else, it's a dolla-garchy. the country's for sale and it's priced out of your budget. live with that.
