not usually, if i come across those i just make the customer decide at the start of the install if they are willing to have the box directly connected to that tv.......in a case where the tv is that old there is usually one part of the family (husband or wife) that is embarrassed of the antique and happy to FINALLY be forced to buy a new television........these tv's are a toss up as to whether they will work or not, and while i know that a lot of people will say to go in and hook the box up and test it before going further, but this is makes things slow and can scare a customer that was hesitant to begin with and will cancel at the drop of a hat.....they really seem to be like a first generation cable ready tv. it's odd, because when i was doing cable i never ran into this problem with these tv's. it's not a brand or a model. just an age.
