thanks for the reply, but this isn't what i'm referring to. these tv's are usually "cable ready" but the channels only go up to 95 rather than 125. i haven't been able to pin point what the era of the tv is other than to say it's at least 15 years. it doesn't matter whether or not it is cable or antenna tuning that i choose, the tv's just won't work on any of the tv2 options........they do work on channel 3 however......my solution when i can't or just won't rewire the entire house to get things up and going has been to give them a free tv2 remote, and then set the receiver up to use two vhf/uhf remotes, but i have a limited supply of them, and i prefer to sell the ones i have to people that want to put their receiver in a closet or otherwise prevent it from using the ir remote rather than give them away to people too cheap to buy a tv in the last 15 years.
