$500 a year is too much for insurance anyway. The last thing I need is a premium hike on account of some house getting torched and the only thing the fire investigator finds is my IRD with a lopped off ground prong.
I carry 3/2 adaptors on my truck for those jobs that don't have 3 prong outlets. HOWEVER, they get taken off as soon as I'm leaving. They can have TV when they go to the hardware store and get them. Those things are just temporary and not a replacement to having an electrician come and re-wire the outlet. If a house burns up with one of them on, it will be one the customer put on themselves and bought themselves. I know that a customer isn't going to hire the electrician even though I suggest they do. They see what I use to make it work, and they just go to the Ace and get one themselves.
