First of all, this post is referring to mounting these monsters on apartment patios/balconies, where 95% of the time you CANNOT mount the dish to the building. The property owner requires you to install it using a tripod or bucket/concrete pole mount.
If you come across one of these type installs, and you can't charge or the cust. won't pay, just fall back on the fact that you're unable to ground the system in their apartment.
The only time that didn't work for me was when the cust. was the head maintenance man and a licensed electrician. He told me to start the install, and he'd run a #10 gauge ground wire through some conduit around the building to the meter. He did come off the money for the tripod though.
Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
