A MAJOR part of being AMERICAN is speaking the language, which is English. That doesn't seem to happen much there.
My mother taught me how to speak English even before we came here; it wasn't even a question. The loss of a common unifying language is the first step of the loss of an integrated, cohesive society.
If I can't understand you, how can I UNDERSTAND you? Get it?
