Re: Mastec & Verizon

I have worked for Mastec on the Verizon project in California, and It was a very bad experience. To start they pay the lowest of all the primes. Mastec would never stand up to Verizon when the contractor was forced to do extras. The area manager Barry Winters is one of the rudest people you will ever meet. It made for an unpleasant experience for my company. I have spoken to many company owners who were not getting paid but that is hearsay, and I did not get both sides of the issue. I have talked with others in the industry and have heard more bad than good . I managed a small company when all this was going on and now I own a small splicing company and I stay away from Mastec they have too many ego and management issues they need to overcome before I will consider working for them. In all fairness I dont know the people in your area so take everything into consideration. For all we know they are good people working for Mastec in the other areas. Good luck.
