that seems to affect iptv and NOT catv. it actually seems to patent the very opposite of cable tv which essentially uses some of it's video bandwidth to deliver voice and data rather than the data stream to deliver video. i'm just spitballing here, but it sounds like at&t and verizon might have more to lose here than comcast or time warner, but with the telco's having such a relationship with cisco i'd assume a feasible price point will be reached somehow. i'd really like to fastforward 5 years to see what winds up being the delivery method of choice for comm. i just have a hard time believing that the price point will get down enough for iptv to be a widespread threat. i'd bet on wireless options before i'd expect the infrastructure costs to get down enough to make iptv in millsap, tx be feasible. but who knows.
