My apologies for not explaining the scenario so tha all can understand.

We are trying to use the vip622's antenna/cable input as a capturing device for the directv or another satellite. If we can get the output signal of the other device to sync up with the 8vsb tuner of the 622, then we can use the 622 as a dvr for an external source. I am aware this is not what it was meant for. It is meant to connect to digital cable or digital ota signals. The device we are trying to feed into the 622 is hd, so a HD modulation might be the answer, but wwe are trying to keep the cost below $100.
