Dude, your talking like Poncho Villa was in charge! He actually printed money because he needed some. The American dollar is a promissory note backed by basically nothing or at least the assumption that some good or service will accept it as payment. If all the notes (dollars) out there today were to be turned in to the banks what exactly do you suppose they would be giving you in return? True, you can't eat gold (actually you can,ate a tad whilst prospecting in california, had to do it) but there's a lot of folks with a lot of stuff that would give some just to have that rare commodity!
