Re: Linemen are tougher

A few years ago I did a joint fiber job for P.G.&E. and Cox cable, when it came time to cross the Eel River ( 1700' span, 103' and 98' contacts on the towers ), I gave a lesson of how to set up the Q-lasher on the tailgate of the pickup, after I was done the P.G.&E. General Construction crew had a conference and decided that it was to much for them to remember and that I was going up with one of their guys do the work. When the lasher was ready to go the P.G.&E. foreman pulled the lasher with a 22" boat while trolling for salmon, we finished the job together, had BBQ-ed salmon and brews that evening, those guys could be my ground crew anytime.
