I know first hand the border patrol is armed here in Tucson and the Nat guard is going to be if not allready. I dunno about the rest of the border areas - thats just how it is here.
I also heard that there has been actual Mexican military (federalies?) escorting drug runners across. Scary thought considering a firefight between them and our agents could be considered an act of war...
