fiber splicing is a tough business right now. You can find FTTH projects with 12000 - 50,000 burns on them but your guys can only average 20 or so a day after setups with prices being in the low 20's (sometimes worse) and testing is inclusive. Trying to pay experienced guys, good eqpuipment, maintenance and W/C and GL and hotels/fuel etc....it's pretty tough. I'm not sure of the exact date, but I think it was sometime between 2001 and 2004 that fiber splicing became viewed as an unskilled labor position.......
