Has anyone pulled a trick on a cable thief?

My buddy who does cable sales had one person keep breaking the available port and skinning the cable to the stinger the jamming it in to get service. After three times replacing the face plate and requesting a new pedestal cover he got pissed. He replaced the faceplate put on the silver terminator with no stinger and put a poly switch in for that port. He then took his stickers off his truck and parked a few house away but close enough to see. The man came out the house retrieved his mail then, pulled a Knife out of his pocket skinned the wire again broke the port and proceeded to sting the port with his mail in the other hand. The 90volts from the tap zapped him good and he dropped his mail. He was so mad! My friend blew the horn the man flipped him off and stormed inside. We later found out that he complained to another cable tech (the man's bootlegger) that we know how some damn near shocked him to death while trying to hook himself up.
