In 1975 I lived across from this old fart(85) and I call him that out of respect bcz he'd agree. I'd watch him at his front door swatting wasps and asked him about it. Said he hadn't been stung in yrs(don't recall how long he said). He told me to hold my breath when around wasps if you stirred them up, of coarse if there is 10 -20-30 run like hell. I've tried to tell people this for 31 YEARS. Unless you've kicked up a nest or swarmed, it works. Be still, don't react And hold your breath.
Of coarse a torch with a 3/4 to 1 inch head works well too.
