If you are to get a DVR\PVR\TIVO I`d say the best out there is a new one with both dvr and DVD\RW capabilities. Also a new one where you can do Both regular\Digital and HD. Then it does`nt matter WHO`s tv service your getting especially since there are ALOT of off air HD content.
