I think the battery powered signal meters like Acutrrack have that capability. DTV stuff seems to work most of the time so I have never bothered testing them. If you run the signal meter on the IRD and every other transponder is missing it is either a defective LNB or a fitting or a wire cut. Switches get hot if they fail and you can switch the leads to test them.
Never did any DISH work.
I also keep questionable spares in a box and test them on a ground mount off the back porch. You can do this with beer, an old IRD and a TV; use those slide-on fittings you should be stealing from the cx equipment.........you don't get paid for the call backs so the cx can't keep their crappy slide on fittings.
Fulfillment companies never...NEVER...replace missing or defective stuff ......doesn't come up much........but you need the OK used spares.
