Ok, I need w/c, but I can exclude myself from the policy. Apparently it has something to do with another contractor a year back having a buddy working with him who got injured on the job.
The contractor did not carry w/c, so the medical bills fell to the prime. At least that is what I have been told. I can get a w/c policy for a "part time employee" for about 450 per year, and that seems perfect since I don't intend to have any employees. I can cover myself with this policy for another 400. Not a bad add-on I guess in case someone t-bones my truck or I fall off a ladder mid-span.
