You have to remember that Med ins covers your medical bills only. W/C covers medical and your wages while youre unable to work.
Its very smart to have w/c. The problem is the jobs in the industry dont pay enough so that a sub can easily pay for w/c. The trouble is not with the law, it is with the low-ball pay in this industry.
For a sub your pay should cover enough for w/c, med ins, GL, savings, and labor. Too many of us only account for labor and thats why many of us frown on w/c laws. There is a problem, but its not the law. Its the pay in the industry.
