Re: W/C

Its like this. You or no-one else is considered a contractor or employee. These two words do not describe who you are as a person. These terms are only used to define the nature of you relationship with another party. So lose the idea that you are a contractor. You are an individual working in a relationship that deems you're a contractor. Big difference.

You are working as a contractor/company. You are also an employee of your company. You have a dual role. You are doing the work for your company. The relationship you have with yourself deems you to be an employee of yourself. Weird? Yes. Thats why you are supposed to W2 yourself at the end of year. Because you are an employee of yourself, you must provide yourself with w/c per the law that says employers must provide w/c for employees. It seems confusing but its simple once you learn the true meaning of words like employee and contractor.

There are waivers but very few people qualify for them. Chances are if you sub in cable, the law really sees you as an employee and the company you're working for should be providing this. But thats a whole other story.
