Insurance is just a form of state-sanctioned gambling. Insurance companies weigh the risk of insuring various individuals and businesses, and then make a wager. The wager being that they will pay out X amount of dollars if they lose the bet. Most of the time, they don't. We consumers only win if we have a claim.
