Even though I`ve been of BOTH sides of the fence. I never got a CERT for Satellite but did for cable. Here is a cert that is GREAT for both and will do well in ALL aspects of your job. Before I even got into doing ANY telecommunications work I went to community college and got a C-TECH cert which is a cert for network wiring. they had a fibre class (did`nt take it but wish I did).
That and the AT&T cert (Before it became commcast) was in valuable for understanding how the telecommunication systems work. When you know HOW it works it makes it sooooo much easier to work on\diagnose the system.
