Ive only installed 2 Dish systems. I was all DTV. The biggest difference to me was that when pointing DISH, being plumb and level is an absolute must. With DTV you can not be completely level but still peak the signal. On an oval 3 it becomes more of an issue but no where near the importance when installing DISH.

Its been about 2 years since Ive touched a DISH system. The thing that really turned me off was that everything wasnt compatable. Certain ird's only worked with certain LNB's or switches. Dont know if this has changed. IMO, DISH is something you really have to be trained on. It seems you have to know the entire product line. DTV is pretty simple. Everything works with everything.

Also DISH doesnt seem to be very installer freindly. Everytime I see one I think to myself, damn thats alot of fittings!!
