This is the troubleshooting tool for windows. I am not a Microsoft expert by any means but in my day to day work I see a lot of viruses and this tool works. When the virus get attached to a file every time you reboot it actually goes deeper into the system and makes it harder to repair. Another good tool is on the Microsoft site and it is called Malicious software removal tool. If it finds a corrupted file it will recommend that you do a full scan of your system. I have seen this take many hours. There are people that really hate Microsoft mostly in Russia and China and there is a new one every day. Just so you know I work in the IT department at Level 3 Communications. I am a former cable dog with NACOM. Good luck sir......
