As I said, it is new cabling all the way from tap to modem. It's a new house but the installer couldn't locate the tap side of the lat so he put a temp down, which was a new wire. When the lat guy came, he put in orange flooded. I originally had used the home's prewire and a splitter in the room where the CM was at as I also had digi in the same room. However, I ran a new line for just the modem as I am aware of cascading splitter issues.

For those wondering, the house amp is bi-directional. Some have recommended not using one, but stability did increase with it. It adds a +10 db gain, but also is 2-port, therefore eliminating a two-way splitter (-3.5db). I would probably be at -6 without it.
