Re: Headend wiring

Not at all. But to make it square, while looking quite pretty, becomes problematic and costly if there is a change. It has great form and horrid function. If anybody has seen the wiring in Baltimore City MD (Any of the five headends), North Dade Florida, South Dade Florida, Towson MD(the new headend, almost complete), Las Cruces NM, and some more Comcast locations, they know the way it "should" be done. I will post some examples tomorrow. I have them in my office. But for now I will leave you with something to think about. If you square wire a pathtrak unit and have to take out the middle card, how many wires will you have to take off to get it out?

I would relate it to much of the equipment made by engineers. Their concepts are exceptional, and the functions of the equipment are amazing. The problem comes in when you actually have to use it, wire it, or just put it in the field. Many times the changes, and problems that will inevitably arise are not taken into account.
