Nc, are you saying that if you cross the state line to do a job, you pay the other state taxes? I haven't heard of that before. I have a very good and straight accountant and he helped me claim out of state expenses on travelling out of state for more than 8 hours of work, but he never mentioned that I could claim the other states income tax rate for that day. I would have liked to do that, because at the time I was in Alabama working in Tennessee, which doesn't have a income tax.
I have found out that in Tenn you are required to get a H1 commercial tag if you have the magnets AND ladder rack. From what I have heard if you plan on doing any Intertate travel, get the tag (costs $15-$25 annually and saves you froma $400 citation). Otherwise stay on the highways and side roads. The troopers are the ones who will get you.
