The majority of ingress is ingressing through the drop plant, while other sources are compromised line issues, such as cracked cable, poorly grounded pin fittings, as a result of electrolysis or poorly tightened cinch rings, cracked tap ports, etc. These signals vary in frequency and strength. The worst of these undesired signals are highly intermittant impulse signals, often intense in strength and lasting a fraction of a second.
