I like the way you think!
Our local paper reported a story about four men running along a country road here in eastern MD one morning. A cop had stopped them and the reporter also stopped to watch; no problem. Turns out all four men had green cards and were running TO work because their car broke down miles behind them.
They were running TO a job cutting up chickens. The plant manager stated that if one of his "regular" employees couldn't find keys or gas money there would be no call and no show.
In comparison to the work ethic of newly arrived workers who would like to become citizens, I have found myself embarrassed by my own lack of willingness to dig in and get'er done.
I have also been embarressed by the willingness of people who should know better to take advantage of these hungry and well meaning people.
