Hey lostintexas,
There is all kinds of QC. One type monitors results and improves performance.
The person buying the services can't be present for each installation so they test a few installations at random. The ones that fail to conform to an agreed upon specification should be repaired until they are correctly done.
If a pattern of unacceptable work emerges contractors can be made to perform or get out. Contracts even stipulate that others will be hired to correct deficiencies at the original performers' expense. The original installer can be charged in a backdated manner to discover and fix unacceptable work.
All this has little to do with cable or satellite installation is managed by the biggies. They close their eyes and pretend all installations are equal so all payments should be the same.
There are also cable and satellite managers who are dishonest and steal in the name of quality control.
Who will QC the QCers?
Joe
